The Malév winter timetable featuring all the destinations usually covered in this period – 43 cities in 35 countries – comes into force on 30 October 2011. During the winter scheduling the airline operates a total of 365 flights a week, in the process retaining its high frequency connections on the most popular routes.

Malév’s timetable adjusted to winter travel demands ensures rapid and convenient connections from Budapest to the metropolises and regions of Europe and the Middle East. Scheduling of flights continues to be ideal for both those traveling on direct flights and for the airline’s many transit customers. The operation of Malév remains structured on four scheduled waves per day and since more than 40% of the airline’s customers are transit travelers, the company continues to place great emphasis on guaranteeing smooth connections.

The carrier continues to handle its most popular routes with particular attention throughout the winter timetable period. This means that several flights are operated with the same enhanced frequencies they receive in the summer period; examples include services to and from Copenhagen, Paris and Kiev.

At the same time Malév plans to introduce a new flight to Tripoli in the winter period. In fact, sales of tickets for this connection have already started. Currently Tripoli airport is closed, but like other European airlines Malév reckons that civil air transportation in Libya will start up again within two months.

Malév remains committed to providing affordable air tickets and travel packages to the main cities in the Malév network across the autumn-winter period. Special winter season offers are published on the airline’s website.

The Malév Travel Planner – Smart Search launched by the airline this summer is proving to be a popular and effective tool for travellers wishing to select and book flights. The Travel Planner is an extremely transparent and simple-to-use application, which assists the user in finding the best travel solution and reaching a quick decision with the help of maps and graphics. In just a few seconds the user can browse prices and dates for up to one year ahead, which means that it is even possible to book an air ticket now for next summer’s holiday. Once the optimal destination, date and, naturally, price are fixed, the on-line ticketing procedure can start straight away.
