The Office of Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Hungary in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce for the Northern Netherlands organised the Hungarian investment promotion seminar on 26th May 2011 in order to introduce Hungary’s South-Eastern Region to potential Dutch investors.

Nearly 70 Dutch entrepreneurs and businessmen participated in the “Region meets Region” investment seminar in Groningen, in the most important commercial centre of the Northern Netherlands. We presented a Hungarian region with the hope that this investment promotion event can give additional impulse for further Dutch small- and medium size companies to start business in Hungary.

The event brought into focus business opportunities of selected industrial sectors, such as logistics, life sciences, as well as agriculture and food, which sectors can build bridge between the 3 provinces in the Northern Netherlands (Groningen, Friesland and Drenthte) and South-Eastern Hungary. In the frame of the business matchmaking section, 12 Hungarian companies and business development institutions had appr. 40 prearranged one-on-one meetings with potential Dutch partners. These meetings contributed on the merits to boost Hungarian exports on the Dutch market. After the seminar, Dutch businessmen attended the opening ceremony of the Hungarian fine arts exhibition in the Remontstrantse Kerk.
