Bosch to create 1,000 jobs through investments in Miskolc

Bosch Energy and Body Systems is to create 1,000 new jobs through ongoing and planned developments at its Miskolc plant (NE Hungary) over the next two years, business daily Világgazdaság said on Monday, quoting managing director May Nitzsche.Econews reported in June 2010 that Bosch laid the cornerstone for a HUF 6.5bn production hall at its base in Miskolc, creating 550 new jobs. The new unit is scheduled to be completed by July. There are further developments planned for next year.

 

The plant, set up in 2003, is to start production of a new electric bicycle motor in August. Bosch spent EUR 46.1m on R+D in Hungary last year compared to EUR 36.3m in 2009. It was reported earlier that HUF 981m of the investment's costs are covered by support from the North-Hungary Operative programme and the city development company Miskolc Holding will contribute HUF 140m.
