This series of events is characterised by two distinct programme profiles, the Balkan World Music Festival, and the Meeting at the Gate to the Balkans International Interdisciplinary Conference.

This intercultural "patchwork" made up of world music concerts, conference lectures and dialogues between science and art is unique even by European standards, since it is designed to offer a unique opportunity for encounters and cultural and artistic dialogues that have long been overdue. The topic of the conference: Chances of cultural differences - The ethics, poetics and politics of hospitality knowing no frontiers.
