Philips Moves 3D TV, LED Manufacturing to Hungarian Plants
Philips has started the manufacturing of 21:9-size 3D televisions at its plant in Székesfehérvár (Western Hungary).
According to plans, the plant will produce 400,000-500,000 units this year and about a million in 2011, Benedikt Laux, Philips's regional manager said at a press conference. The investment (the cost of which has not been published) is part of Philips's Hungarian portfolio-stretching; earlier this year, the production of LED lighting fixtures was launched at another Philips base in Tamási (Western Hungary).
