Knorr-Bremse to Build New Plant for HUF 4.5 Bn
One of the world's leading manufacturers of truck and railway brake systems, Knorr Bremse, announced a HUF 4.5 billion investment in the construction of a new plant in Kecskemet. The company has already bought a 2.7-hectare lot to enhance its territory to 8.6 hectares near the city of Kecskemet (Southern Hungary) and will break the ground for the plant early 2011. The 20,000-sqm new facility starts operation in 2012, and will employ 100-120 new staff, said Istvan Lepsenyi, CEO of Knorr Bremse Fekrendszerek Kft. The investment (which has partly been financed by Hungarian state subsidies and EU funding) is not the only ongoing greenfield project of the German industrial giant in Hungary: another EUR 43-million production facility is under construction near Budapest.September 30, 2010
