United efforts needed
The marketing efforts of the Tourism Office of Budapest and the Budapest and Surroundings Region should be combined and a Tourism Destination Management office should be set up. These comments came from Mr Gergely Horváth, CEO of the Hungarian National Tourist Office, who was speaking at a conference in Budapest last week. He added that the HNTO aims to increase the number of domestic guest nights by 1% and foreign guest nights by 2% in 2011, while the number of nights conference tourists spend in Hungary is targeted for a 5% hike.
