Kinetic Concepts Inc. (KCI), a US-based medical technology firm has chosen Budapest to host the company's global service center, a hub of global transactions.

The company will concentrate its service capacities in order to maintain its edge in the medical technology business. The new service center will employ a staff of 50 in the first phase, about 100 next year, and the headcount should rise to several hundred over the next few years. KCI picked Hungary after considering many potential locations; it found that the Hungarian labor force and the country's business-friendly environment meets its standards.
